US Space & Rocket Center

Huntsville
USAOur review
We visited the center on our way to Memphis and arrived as it opened. It offers a large area displaying many different spacecraft and equipment, there are also displays of aircraft. Before visiting we were unaware how important Huntsville was to the American space industry and still is up to this day. It was responsible for the production of a lot of the spacecraft used from the start of the program and rightly owns the title of Space City.
If you are in this area it is well worth the visit although we did find Kennedy Space Center a little better.
The USSRC houses the Spacedome IMAX®. This theater displays films in 70mm film onto a 67 ft dome screen and is one of 21 worldwide. In the Davidson Center for Space Exploration is the National Geographic Theater. Here, quality educational films are presented in 3D. The Center’s main exhibit area contains one of the largest collections of rockets and space memorabilia anywhere in the world and regularly features traveling exhibits from around the globe. At the Davidson Center for Space Exploration, guests can view a National Historic Landmark – an authentic Saturn V rocket – one of only three in the world, located in the Saturn V Hall.
