Thrifty Car Hire

We booked the car via Holiday Autos before departing the UK, we selected Thrifty on this occasion as they were one of the cheaper on offer and had an airport pick up. Unlike in the UK where you get allocated a car, in the US you get directed to an area where you can select the car you want, on this occasion we were offered 3 cars to choose from which were all the same make and model. The car did perform as expected but you can see where the cost savings are made as the vehicle was not of the specification that we had received from other suppliers. This is well worth considering if you have a long distance to travel. Another consideration is the way that Thrifty handle the tolls, they charge you for each day whether you go through a toll or not, as an example Alamo only charges you for the tolls you incur up to an amount per day.  That being said the staff at the pickup and drop off points were very good.
