This was our first visit to the First Direct Arena in Leeds, we arrived early so that we dine out before the concert, here’s our first tip book before you go!!! We visited numerous restaurants, some of which had tables to only be told that we needed to book. We also pre-booked our parking in the multi-storey car park which was very close to the venue, although prices did go quite high the longer you stay. Entrance into the venue was simple after passing through the usual security, directions were good to get to the block where our seats were located were easy to follow. However, when you enter the seating area is where it starts to get a bit tricky, the block numbers are painted on the rear wall and are not in the middle of the block, this leads to people sitting in the wrong block as each block has the same seat numbers as well. This problem could easily be solved by painting the block number with an arrow on the stairs.
On to the concert, It started with Alison Moyet whose voice was exceptional as she went through most of her classic hits. The sound was very good and clear, the only issue was with one particular light unit, we were seated near to the rear of the venue and the light was shining right into your eyes, if it had been set with one degree more of angle all would have been great. There was also a lack of screens that showed the artist, in fact, there weren’t any, which is unusual for modern concerts.
Tears For Fears again came on and sounded very good and again went through all the classics, all in all, it was a very good concert and is continuing with sold-out shows.
