Our review
As you may well know, we do like a zoo and have visited them in Washington DC, and Atlanta during previous trips to America.
We booked our tickets before leaving the UK and managed to get a small discount, as with most of these type of places we arrived at the zoo as it opened and were some the first people in. The joy of being first in means that you avoid the crowds to start off. As we made our way round we managed to see the animals in most of the exhibits, there were plenty of information boards giving you history and interesting facts about them. What we did start to notice quite quickly was how close you were to the animals, this really came to the forefront when we reached the Giraffes, they were just coming out of their night enclosure and they walked past us probably no further than 20 feet away from us.
Included within the price were tickets to a dolphin presentation which was very good. There are many other things to do at the zoo which would help to make it a good day out with children. There was also a very large gift shop that you pass through as you leave. All of the staff we encountered were very friendly which all adds to the experience.
This has been the best zoo that we have visited to date and we would not hesitate to return for another visit if we find ourselves back in Indianapolis.
