The Brown Horse has always been a go too venue, we arrived just after noon and had a cup of coffee whilst we waited for a taxi, this was ordered by the staff as mobile signals are not that great and the WiFi is not the fastest.
We have stayed here on numerous occasions and our room was well appointed although the bathroom is starting to look a little tired.
We had a table booked for our evening meal and were looking forward to it. After being seated and our order being taken things started to go a little wrong, we had to ask where the starter was after 30 minutes of waiting. They did come back to us and said there had been a mix-up and they would not be long, they did offer a bottle of wine as an apology. Our starters arrived and if we are being honest they were not up to the normal standard we had come to expect and we did mention this to our server. The main meals arrived and again were a little disappointing, we had ordered some burgers and they were very dry. Again we did make comment to this and the chef did come out and personally apologise for the poor experience we had had on this occasion. Our bill was reduced to reflect the issues we had on this visit.
All in all this visit was not very good but it has to be said that the staff did everything they could to rectify the problems we encountered, would we go back again ……… yes, we think it is was just a glitch.
