Flight out: 13/06/2025 in Business ClassReturn: 20/06/2025 in Business ClassThis was our first experience with Aer Lingus and they were selected due to the price that they were offering at the time to travel to JFK New York.
Outbound:
Checking in was easy enough, I used the app to check in and then went to the bag drop at the airport, there was a dedicated line for business class and we were seen straight away. The attendant was quick and efficient and advised us that we had access to the 1903 lounge.
The flight was on time and once we boarded we were given the normal glass of champagne to start our journey. Menus were handed out and we selected the crab starter followed by the beef and then the mouse for dessert. The meal was without doubt one of the best I have had on a plane. the service on board was excellent with plentyful top ups of all types of drinks. The mall snack before landing was very good as well. This was the first time of flying to the USA that we have not needed to eat when we have arrived at our overnight hotel.
Return:
On arriving at the airport we were advised by unhelpful member of ground staff that our plane had been delayed by 7 hours, she took our bags we were told to wait in the lounge. We will cover the lounge in a differnt review. We had received no notification from Aer Lingus of the delay which was dissapointing to say the least. On boarding the plane the experience go better and the cabin team soon got in to there step. I did not sample the evening meal due to eating in the lounge earlier and after filling out my breakfast order decided to take advantage of the lay flat bed and got some sleep in. The breakfast was welcome and the bacon roll was most welcome. We had a good trip back with the pilot taking full advantage of the trade winds and landed after a flight of less than 7 hours.
All in all it was good experience with Aer Lingus and we will travel again with them.
